Originally settled by the Huu-ay-aht First Nation, Bamfield has blossomed into a village of modern conveniences while maintaining the pioneer spirit inherent to this charming community. Today, the Huu-ay-aht are a self-governing modern treaty Nation whose lands cover the Barclay Sound on the Vancouver Island’s west coast, in the Anacla region, between Bamfield and Port Alberni.
